Susan Sarandon Bio

It was after the 1968 Democratic convention, and there was a casting call for a film that had several roles for young people who had disrupted the convention. Joe (1970) was sought out by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970) Two recent Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon was not selected even though he prior studies in acting. Susan, his wife Susan was offered a prominent part in the film as Susan Compton who was the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). In the movie Dad Bill kills Susan's drug dealer boyfriend and next befriends Joe (Peter Boyle)-- the bigot who is working as an assembly line worker and who is a collector of guns.Five years after, Sarandon made the film in which fans of classic films have come to recognize her as Janet, who gets entangled with transvestite Dr. Frank n Furter in The The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Sarandon was a fierce advocate for Annie in Bull Durham (1988) more than 15 year following her first appearance in the film. She traveled on her own from Rome, Italy to Los Angeles. Sarandon said that "It was an incredible script... it dispelled a lot of myths and challenged America's notion of success". "I went to the studio with Kevin Costner, sex some men in the studio and then I got back on the plane. Tim Robbins (1988), her Bull Durham supporting actor, had already given birth to two sons before 1992, which placed Sarandon into a position where she was able to leave her home and be able to take on more demanding roles. Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980) was her first Academy Award nomination.
