Abi Clarke
In the past,
i.e. in the early 2020s. In the olden days, comedians may have expected to play
across the UK for several years prior to getting invited to join a television
panel and then selling an arena tour. It's not an easy task at present. One
form of art that can still be performed live is comedy, but there's no way to
expect arena performances. One Bristol comedian has managed to attract a huge
worldwide audience during lockdown via social media. Being famous on the
internet is not something that Abi Clarke wanted to achieve. Abi, who is 24
lives in Henbury. She began creating videos online "to establish a
community of like-minded individuals who would be interested in my standup
comedy." "I was performing regularly in Devon to men in their 50s
that weren't as hot on my Love Island Sims and Twilight references, so I
decided to go online to find other young women who would love my stand-up
routine." Abi, who lives in Henbury, with her parents has continued to
post her videos on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She draws inspiration from
many sources, such as conversations with strangers, the chat room, and writes
down everything she thinks on her phone.
